Bottom Line

As we enter the start of flu season, it's essential to start planning when to get your flu shot. If you live in one of the five NYC Boroughs, you have several options to choose from, depending on your insurance coverage, age and employment with the city. Experts are predicting severe 2022-2023 flu season, so knowing which pharmacies or clinics in your area can vaccinate you and your family is crucial.

Although there are several options in New York that allow residents to receive the flu vaccine at a lower cost, if they are uninsured or underinsured, you should also be prepared for any health ailments that typically arise in the fall and winter months. The flu shot does provide significant protection from severe cases of the flu, but there is still a chance you can get the flu and require additional medical treatment, which can be pricey.
